Re: Thanks to Martin and co - recent IP migration was hassle-free
Thanks for the feedback. This major project, that will last about 6 months to complete, is going 99.5% well. A few minor niggles and some adjustments to the process, but generally exactly as we planned. However, the team this end is doing really well and getting us ready for some exciting things for...

Re: Options for FTTP IPv4 via Openreach without PPPoE?
We only support PPPoE. This is mainly because it allows us to mirror the same experience across different networks (2 live and 3 more incoming).

Re: DNS servers
Aquiss' own IP ranges (AS215066?) That's correct. I wonder whether we shall have new DNS servers: my router notes that we've had some 'DNS disruption' events during that last few days, when DNS resolution switched to public DNS servers (Google's I think) rather than the the usual *.enta.net ones. A...

Re: ipv4 /29 range available for home users?
We have not offered /29 on any services, apart from leased lines, since April of this year, as we are managing our pools of IPv4s to reflect sales rates. We have more pools of IPs commercially agreed and these will be brought into the business accordingly, though with an open market price of 1024 IP...

Re: Openreach to launch symmetric fttp
Far too early to answer any questions on this. The news broke to providers about 24 hours before the press got their hands on it, to the point that even BT Wholesale were blindsided by the announcement. We already opened the wholesale question 2 days and just awaiting updates to this so we can make ...

Re: RSS feed
RSS Feeds, Network Status Pages and WhatsApp Channels get fed the same network planned/unplanned outage information. No changes to this arrangement are on my plans, so if RSS feeds is your thing, you will continue to get the information. WhatsApp merely gives us a platform to get information out, to...

Re: baby jumbo frame
Good Morning Yes this should work fine with us and our network is setup to support it. The "baby jumbo" bit just means setting the CPE's physical WAN port MTU to 1508, giving you the extra overhead to allow setting the pppoe interface to 1500 so you don't get any fragmentation, and get tru...

Re: Will Aquiss be offering 1.2Gbps and 1.8Gbps services
Hi My contract will soon be up , is there any signs of the faster 1.8 fttp speeds soon, as nexfibre has just been installed in our estate and I can get 2gig speed from them, don’t want to jump ship if faster speeds will be available from Aquiss No different to my previous points. What I posted at h...
