Getting fiber upstairs on cable, not WIFI.

In case anyone is interested as it was new to me. I would drill a hole in the ceiling but was told by my partner no, so I couldn't run CAT5e. Because I'd just finished with Virgin and we had a TIVO box upstairs as well as downstairs they'd run their Coax cable into downstairs, outside, up the side o...

Re: Speeds

Thinkpad T15s Doing more testing and its all inconsistent internally. Someone pointed out you can do a speed test directly on that router so I have. Then finally worked out how to get the 2.5G WAN port working. You don't have to turn dual mode on, just set the primary in there to be the 2.5G WAN por...

Re: Speeds

Yeah, might be the laptop. Checking the speeds direct on the router, as someone mentioned it had the option, getting 930 down and up.

Speeds

So, now CityFibre have finally fixed their line I've done some speed tests. Quite disappointing so far. I'm on the Family Unlimited CityFibre 1200Mbps but getting the following with only my laptop as a client, no one else connected: On WIFI on the 5Ghz band I'm getting: 630Mbps UP 620Mbps Down If I ...

Re: UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra compatibility

I'm on the 1200 package (when CityFibre pull their finger out and actually fix their broadband), so I assume it will do that?

Do you know what its like WIFI wise on its own without any other APs?

Re: RT-AX86U Pro Internet VLAN ID

Its currently an issue with CityFibre apparently. Nice intro to CityFibre, already down and offline and I haven't even managed to get on yet. Lets hope they sort themselves out before Monday as Virgin cut us off then.

Re: UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra compatibility

suggesting it maxes out around 700Mbps with PPPoE (and maybe with IDS enabled too). Can confirm this has been a long standing issue with most UniFi gear. Some firmware versions better than others but when it hits the router can only use one core so speeds get throttled beyond 700Mbps. I ended up sw...
