Looks good - will aquiss allow people to upgrade to this package if they're already in a contract with another package with them?

"Symmetric HTTP" had me scratching my head for a few seconds earlier today :D

I imagine this will be the usual situation where OpenReach may be implementing the capability, but Aquiss will only be able to offer it if/when BT Wholesale do, so we'll probably have to wait and see....

Far too early to answer any questions on this. The news broke to providers about 24 hours before the press got their hands on it, to the point that even BT Wholesale were blindsided by the announcement.

We already opened the wholesale question 2 days and just awaiting updates to this so we can make a commercial decision.

Don't get your hopes up, Openreach launched >1Gig about a year ago and BT wholesale still doesn't offer it

So an update for everyone, Openreach have launched the price of their 1Gbps (up and down) to market. This is priced at £1,200.00 (ex VAT) per year. This of course will then need to taken up by the wholesale channels (BT Wholesale etc) to add their costs. Then the service providers will add their costs. This will likely sit in the retail market at £175 to £200 a month which in our view is a dead product before it starts.

Commercially we don't see this product as adding any value to our business and at the published pricing, we won't be adding this to our portfolio.

Wow. Not very competitive pricing.
