So the RT-AX86U Pro has arrived but as mentioned on your guide, it has no option to put a VLAN ID in. I'm assuming your guide must have this model with newer firmware?

Mine is currently on 3.0.0.4.388_21070

So it is a firmware issue. You need to be on the latest firmware for this model to get the VLAN option.

Now I have it, now I've set it to 911 for CityFibre, its still refusing to connection. What am I doing wrong?

Its currently an issue with CityFibre apparently. Nice intro to CityFibre, already down and offline and I haven't even managed to get on yet. Lets hope they sort themselves out before Monday as Virgin cut us off then.

Hi,

Not sure if you're still having a problem with connecting your RT-AX86U Pro to Aquiss?

If so then shout as I've the same router running Merlin connected OK to Aquiss without VLAN tagging (it's not an option in the Merlin firmware).

It did take a bit of fiddling but it's up and working fine on IPv4 & IPv6.

I use the 88U Pro with Merlin firmware and it's under the IPTV heading under the LAN setting

Thanks @el_Gordo - I wouldn't have thought to look under LAN/IPTV to find it!

Weirdly though I've not needed it on my RT-AX86U Pro to connect to Aquiss - it works without setting up VLANs.

And just realised why mine works - it's provisioned through Openreach and not CityFibre so no VLAN required (and to be fair the setup guide does say it's only CityFibre that requires a VLAN).

Originally it was a firmware issue then it also ended up being CityFibre was down. All working fine now.
